I was raised on the near east side of Cleveland, just walking distance from the old Municipal Stadium, by immigrant parents with an age-old dream—seeing their children succeed through hard work and fair-dealing. Growing up in the city had its challenges, but I was lucky to have determined, hard-working parents who taught me the importance of education, tenacity, and respect for others.
After attending the Cleveland Public Schools and graduating from Cleveland State University with a B.A. and an M.A. in History, I graduated from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (CSU). I then earned a Master of Laws degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
In addition to practicing law, I have years of experience teaching at the college level. I therefore have the capacity to clearly and patiently explain difficult concepts to a diverse audience. That experience translates nicely when explaining the complex legal world to those in need of legal help.
As a guy who was raised in the inner-city of Cleveland, I have seen how ordinary people can get caught up in legal pitfalls. As a former prosecutor, I understand how prosecutors and police officers approach cases. I can view the case from “the other side” and can spot weaknesses in the prosecution’s case. In short, I can “see the whole field.”
Having successfully prosecuted over 100 felony cases, as well as hundreds of misdemeanors, I have successfully closed cases involving such matters as:
